Pity

Pity

A Poem by Anjeline

A confidence so feeble that it gains strength by demeaning others,
These are the souls who are trapped in the darkness of their mind like prisoners.
Mocking others to hide their own scars
Revealing their jealousy that you're amongst the stars
I got hurt in the beginning wondering why they do it,
Succeeding them in making me think if I am stupid
They pointed out my failures and I questioned my existence,
Not realizing that the hurricane is never stopped by a fence.

Slowly the hurt transformed into exasperation
Hitting the limit of my tolerance like bullets of a gun
But finally the tide began to ebb,
And I released my self from their vicious orb web
The only notion now left in response is pity
Pity for those who lost themselves trying to blend in the commitee.

I feel sorry for these folks, even reluctantly.
They make their own bed and then need to lie in it, accept or change it if they can.
The sheets can be cleaned and made for a fresh start.
we are not responsible for their lot in life, yet they treat us like we are.
A very sad life...I know people like this in my life...so unhappy...they retaliate for that unhappiness by
demeaning others...as your poem alludes to.

I am not even sure they should receive any pity. I don't pity those who know better but choose to ignore. I loved your poem, very deep and the message is clear. Nicely done.

Thank you soo much for your review :)
Yes, they deserve pity and nothing else. Trying to get ahead by riding on the back of what they see as the inadequacies of others. Plain nasty attitude I would say. You express your feelings here with an increasing confidence Anjeline. Nicely penned my friend.
