Forlorn

Forlorn

A Poem by Lauren Applegrove
"

I haven't been feeling great so instead of crying I wrote this.

"

At the start of each day my show begins,

Watch the girl weaken and become unhinged.

See the freak seated in silence,

Whose mangled mind lashes in violence.

Hear her thoughts that are unlike ours,

Disgusting things should be locked within towers.

Watch as she grasps for someone to hold,

She should stop dreaming, she’s getting to old.

See her attempts to talk with another,

They make it clear that she is a bother.

Everyone watches, laughs can be heard,

And if she vanished, there would not be a word.

The people will watch but they do not care,

She’s dying inside, but they only will stare.
