Just A Dream

Just A Dream

A Poem by ArialChase

'Ahhhhhhhh!!!'
The lights turn on.
Mom runs in and holds me tight.

'Now don't you worry baby doll,'
she says with a kiss,
'Everything's gonna be alright.'

It was just a dream...
that had seemed so real.

Just a dream in which
I saw my greatest fears
And highest moments of joy

Just a dream in which
I saw myself blush
As humility dawned.

Just a dream in which
I saw love...
And I saw it being taken away from me.

Just a dream in which
Just as i was about to call Death
I saw the reason for life... and lived.

It was just a dream
But it gave me a single spark
A reason to live... to love.

I think that dreams are often much more than unconscious thoughts- sometimes, they are the soul's way to wake up and pay attention to something very important in life. We often forget the mild pleasant dreams, but nightmares are a much more effective wake up call.
