Guns = Danger

Guns = Danger

A Poem by Ashton Blake

I was looking into the sun when
I spotted a gun
It was shining bright in the sunlight
I was going to  pick it up
I was going to have a look
Then I remembered something I
Read in a book
Kids don't play with guns
Though it seems quite fun
You should not pick
Up a gun it can
Spoil all your fun
And they may bury you tomorrow

Great poem. Lightly written, yet had a strong theme. Great writing style. The rhyming was done in an original way. Also, great imagery in the first two sentences. This got my attention right away, which is very important in any piece of writing.
