Knight in Shining Armor

Even as a kid,

I never wanted to be a princess.

Sure, that’s what everyone wanted me to be;

The damsel in distress,

The Princess in the tower,

Waiting to be saved,

By a Knight in Shining Armor.

I didn’t want to be a princess,

I wanted to be a knight.

Saving the captured,

Saving the weak,

Being the hero.

I wanted to be,

A Knight in Shining Armor.

It still sticks with me today,

As I roam the halls of my school.

Still,

A little part of me,

Still has the urge to be a princess.

It’s never faded,

The princess is in me,

Very faintly.

I need to be saved,

Cause sometimes.

Even the Knight in Shining armor,

Needs to be saved sometimes

The general meaning of Self-empowerment is taking control of our own life, setting goals, and making positive choices. Basically it means that we have to understand our strengths and weaknesses, and have belief in ourselves. Your write just highlights a very small lack of confidence - it also says you can be a Warrior Princess and have the best of both worlds. Good write and keep writing. :-)

This is a really fun read. I quite enjoyed it. Great imagery, strong message, and superb musicality. I would only suggest to prune the last stanza so there aren't too many child-speak repetitions like "Still, A little part of me Still has...." or "I need to be saved, Cause sometimes, Even a Knight....Needs to be saved sometimes". Without the second "still", the "I need to be saved" and the "sometimes", it would sound a whole lot better (join the "cause" with "even [a] Knight...." - better to have the "a" and not "the" - and it would solve the aesthetic problem). Otherwise, this is absolutely sensational. Well done!!!
