Immortal Love

Immortal Love

A Poem by Barbara Borel

I see death in your eyes as I touch your face with my wrinkly old hand. The same hand that generations go, you slipped a ring onto my finger . How much time has passed through The hourglass of sorrow and pain. Our love, that had no boundaries or borders. That was unconditional ....real... pure. As I look into your eyes one last time, before I say goodbye, I know that one day we will be together in a new lifetime filled with eternal and immortal love.

Wow. That was beautiful. You've managed to capture the beauty and tragedy of time so brilliantly in this poem. And it's amazing the way you wrote it through the eyes of the older speaker. I admire this very much. And I admire you as a writer.
