The Good Life

Kinda inspired by music, with life mixed in.

Walking down a lonely road,

Kicking rocks and contemplating thoughts.

Constantly questioning the what ifs,

And thinking about the things I should have done.

 

Economy falling, this government failing

Income's become breadcrumbs.

Paycheck after paycheck

Just trying to survive.

 

Looking to others, while trying to grow up

Depending on those around you

To help get out of all these ruts

The curveballs that keep getting thrown.

 

It's hard to watch such a life go by,

Failing to succeed in a failing world.

A needle in a haystack,

Finding the good within all the bad.

 

Remember to forget,

With friends, loved ones and even strangers

Surrounded in the carelessness,

Ignoring the chaos of the world outside.

 

Stricken by love and friendship,

Everything will eventually be fine.

This could really be a good life.

This is going to be a good life.

Less dark then some of the things I normally write. Inspired by music and life. Just a little something to explain the good feelings I've been having.

I can definitely hear the musical inspiration in this poem, it reads a lot like lyrics would, especially the repetition at the end, I can picture this as a song fading out~ really pretty and it's a great topic, even though life is hard, it's still beautiful. :)
