the 16 wonders of the world

the 16 wonders of the world

A Poem by BiroPen
"

i wrote this while on holiday on the south of france. i was just sat outside in the early morning and could hear lots of birds cheeping.

"

The breaking dawn,

The cloud filled skies,

A soft red rose,

An eagles eye.

The scortching sun,

The starry night,

A grand old oak,

A bird in flight.

The winters snow,

The desert of sand,

The long green grass,

The new found land.

The autunm leaves,

The owls mind,

The rolling seas,

The whole of mankind.

I don't normally read poems that rhyme, because it's such a fine line between getting it right and forcing it into place, but this is quite well done. Beautiful in its simplicity.

You didn't say whether it was okay to correct the spelling/grammar, so I'm going to take a chance and offer the corrections, please forgive me if they're unwanted!
