Since I was a Kid

Since I was a Kid

A Poem by Bria Si'mone
"

A mother-daughter relationship is a turbulent one

"
The sting from your words hurt more than your belts ever did. My goal in life was to make you happy since I was a little kid

But no matter how good or bad things between us remain. Despite all the smiles, our relationship is strained.

All my life I've aimed to please all the wrong people I can admit.
But your happiness has always been my number one goal in life, since I was a little kid.

For ten years I served you dinner in bed, because you were depressed. You don't realize that when your smile is lost, it leaves the both of us stressed.

I lived in your for 9 months and learned more about you than you ever did. Yet when I try to console you, you push me away. Ever since I was a little kid

Now I'm older and a little more selfish so things don't look the same as they once did.
Now we fight harder than before. I guess we've been fighting ever since I was a little kid

Honest and revealing poetry can always be 'felt' by the reader.
Thank you for sharing a facet of your sorrow, dear poet.
