The Last Candle

The Last Candle

A Poem by Camilli
"

The Darkness is coming.

"
There's Nobody there
Nobody at all.
I shout, I cry, I scream
no one answers my call.
They say there's light out there
light which I cannot see
but all that I get
is endless night for me.
The room keeps getting smaller
the walls are closing in
there's no door to get out
and no way to let hope in.
No window to see out
silence is the only sound
cold naked concrete
walls, ceiling, and ground.

My last candle is burning
a weak flickering light
my only friends
shadows dancing
left and right.
The wax is melting down
won't last me the hour
Darkness is coming
coming, me to devour.

I don't even know where to start. I love this. I can see the room in my head yet I still understand the metaphoric translation. This is a great poem.
