All the Bright Stars

The sky is like an ocean

Different shades of blue

With thousands of glimmering creatures

But there's stars instead

Twinkling like the power is out

Never to burn out

Always giving us hope

Inspiring our every move

Without the sun we can't shine

Without the galaxy we can't get lost

Without hope we cannot succeed

Big enough to see

Small enough to respect

Life-like enough to wish

Oh star be my wonder

Give me courage when I'm down

Give me beautiful air to drink

Give me love to live

Without your dust I cannot fly

I'm like Peter Pan to Tinker Bell

Take me away into the night sky

And lead me to infinite paradise

Author's Note

I stare into the sky and I wonder why it makes my mind clear. Thought of describing these feelings to people who would understand it. Sometimes when there's no one to talk to, you have to let your heart and mind take over.
