A Poem by Cherrie Palmer
"

morning fog

"

Billowing fog laced so tight

Ignites my imagination.

While a gentle zephyr climbs the sloop

its tender touch drapes over.

The fog and she begins a dance

Perfectly timed with a 2,4 beat.

Warming sun kissed her face and in its grasp

The morning fog is erased.

Dream like images with that warming sun chasing the cold mist as it asserts its authority upon the earth. A nicely penned piece. Loved that opening line!

This reminds me of mornings by the ocean, especially the image at the end, how quickly the sun can come out and erase the mist. I love fog too, it's beautiful and oddly inspiring. You do a good job of capturing that.

thank you Lilly, I'm glad to see you enjoyed my poem:)
I very much enjoy the way your poem weaves the wispy damp sensations of being in marine fog. It seems your punctuation is strange – makes it hard to read with a flowing rhythm, which your words naturally have, except for the interruptions of seemingly misplaced punctuation!?!?! That’s why I use minimal punctuation myself. But we each have our own styles. I love the way your poem starts out windy & foggy, but then the ending brings a clearing trend – a perfect analogy for how some days can be! (((HUGS))) fondly, Margie

I sure do enjoy a morning fog and evening mist. Nature's way of blanketing the earth in its own cocoon until the dawning sun snatches her away.

You have described the phenomenon very well. Nicely written.

I always thought of the fog as a nuisance or hiding a terrible secret that has yet to get revealed.i never thought of much beauty to it until reading this.great use of your imagination

sounds like a great idea. Great ideas are like gold that needs to go through the fire and find rebirth like a phoenix. Anyways, this feels like the beginning of a long poem; did you intend metaphors?

Never before has fog been so illuminated by the English language. Wow, this is writing to curl up with when the world turns cold. I feel a chill coming on...

Is there a marriage between fog and mist....both can impact on how we see the world and how we might even feel about it....both can be beautiful to observe too methinks and of course, both are only transitory... whether we see more clearly when they have dissipated, remains to be seen.... methinks again..... I liked, cheers...........N
