Fresh Outlook

Fresh Outlook

A Poem by Cherrie Palmer

A fresh outlook is never new,
but something old we love we love so true.
So break the trance from a screen of white
and let us create by candlelight with
escaping light and the song of birds.
Put away your list of unused words.
Entice the soul with emotions bold.
Arrange your work just left of center,
shade each phrase with bold splendor.
The poet’s pallet is shaded in extremes
and balanced with the undiscovered truth found in each day.

The shape of your poem is like the rook in a game of chess.

Lovely words and rhyme scheme X

I'm glad you stumbled upon it then:)
A fresh outlook on life and in relationships is a good thing, and sometimes progress and technology takes over everyone's life and we tend to forget someone or something important... So yes we do need to stop being involved and let ourselves rekindle with things we love or with loved ones... Thank you for sharing

Thank you for reflecting with me
I don't know any real poets but if I did their work would be in any direction of center, unspecified and tweaked not in extremes but rather because of them. Poetic balance is not at all what you portray it as here... this smells like limitation dressed in hubris with a touch of self unawareness. Sorry, but, this is total bullshit.

Ramble on...led Zeppelin!!
yes, "tweaked in extremes" the emotions and the words...and hopefully the effect on the reader...
and not just truths for the reader, but as writers i think as we write we uncover so many truths about ourselves.

I love this, Cherrie. A little philosophy goes a long way...even if it isn't left of center!

Yes, I watched it, too. I hate when the horses race under those conditions, but all went well!
