Gay rights have always been an issue, but they don't deserve to be treated the way they are.

They are people too,
whether you like it or not.
They don’t need your torment;
for long enough they’ve fought.
 

Many days of their lives
they endure the people’s crap,
trying to ignore
that some, just can’t take the facts.
 

Why do you harass?
Why do you abuse?
Why do you deny
these people with no excuse?
 

You see it like a joke;
Like they don’t feel a thing.
Then, you wear their spirit slowly,
while your words, they burn and sting.
 

These are the people that you spoke to
before you knew the truth;
people who remained your friends
through your troubled youth.
 

You turn your back blindly
to your faithful friends,
all because you found out
they were gay in the end.
