everyday

everyday

A Poem by Christel Grady

I can see The End

right before my eyes,

ears,

hands,

grasping at straws,

sleeping in shadows,

starving with fear

my dear.  The demise

of Mankind is

all around us.

Touch it quick

before it's gone.

It's not often we can actually see the deterioration of the world. Take this as a comment about politics and the "State of the Union" if you will.

This is exactly the kind of thing I like to read. It's short and to the point and yet you say so much without really saying much at all. I feel this way everyday when I look at the people and bustle of life around me and I wonder when the bombs are going to hit the surface. They've been flying around for years now and it's only a matter of time before they crash. I kind of look forward to it. I'll sing and dance in the naked streets and look forward to the beauty of a new world born that I will never get to see.

Rebirth.

Yes, I do appreciate the message you've shared. Although our styles varied, we certainly were on the same wave length. Sharon

"Touch it quick" i like this poem, i does have a driving movement to it, i like the intense interaction of "touching" the decay of the world, experience it rather than telling it... that is knowledge. very well composed. also, i liked your james madison quote. zig

Wow Christel you've really drove the point home with eloquence and truth. This is fabulous.

With today's current events, it's all we can do to hold it together. Just hang on for the ride, its going to be a good one ...

succinct yet powerful. Inescapable message in a paucity of words.

Don't think it's just politics. The whole world is slumping into a bad, bad place. But look at the bright side, we're living through history! LOL That's what my mother and I say to take the edge off as we watch the planet fall apart.
