Yesterday

A Poem by Corrupted Rose

I want to be beautiful just like her...
To have his gentle eyes focus on me again
His hand to caress my frowned upon face
Have his hand reach out for me like he once did before
To grab onto my heart...
To share my hidden sorrows
Share only one kiss...
Just one kiss sealed my heart with love only for him
People don't understand
Why these teeth clench in anger
Why my feet keep running and my hands reach out for something to grasp onto
I'm desperately trying to hold onto a memory of yesterday
I won't let anyone take away that look of compassion he once gave me
Even though it was yesterday...
When you came and then went away
The wind still blows your presence in the air...
Each day caressing my face letting me continue to hold on
We came from two different worlds and some how...
The colors that I was once surrounded by changed
I never saw the color of love
I never had the chance to hold it so close to me and have that sparkle in my eye
But when you stepped on this land
Even for a little while...
I'll never forget...
What you made me feel
It's no longer buried deep within
But carried upon my shoulders for the world to see
So, I'm looking back on yesterday...
