Sail

Sail

A Poem by Cre8nFrmWithn
"

Where is it posted on my back that I'm supposed to take everyone's crap and remain smiling?

"

I love the ocean.  I always have.

There are days when I sail;

I’m unrestricted and free.

A gale overhead

and the view is heavenly.

My delight runs uncollected.

This is my verve; here I exist.

My purpose is known.

I’m beckoned but resist;

The maelstrom so

serving

to my mast, a brutal fist.

Those that love me leave me rejected.

I only want to sail.  I want peace.

The waves threaten my tiller.

I fight to stay afloat;

beneath the surface I

will take shelter.

Sail torn, broken my throat.

The sun sets on my descent.

I only want to sail.  I love the ocean.

These storms that misfortune me.

I ride their waves with hubris.

I think I can handle

the ocean’s dander;

but I seek shelter; I can’t do this!

My life…batten down the hatches.

" Where is it posted on my back that I'm supposed to take everyone's crap and remain smiling?" - well said!

Now then the poem - A view toward being on the sea AND living life ? You flow fairly effectively back and forth sailing and life's travails - until:

"beneath the surface I
will take shelter.
Sail torn, broken my throat."

and afterwards it feels to me as if you let it get away from you.

To bring the reigns in - perhaps if you ride out the storms between the cockpit and the tiller and not vanish below decks... express life's damage via the waves and wind action and your facing the tempest.
