Going Down (Poem)

Going Down (Poem)

A Poem by Scott W. Martin
"

I was trying to get an action comic book feel using a poem. I think it turned out nice.

"

Going down, my stomach is starting to rise
The crash threw me from my hover craft
I remember an old physics teacher
As the vehicle slowly rises above me

I'm up, way above ground level
The windows are blurred
I think I see somebody gasp
But it's impossible to tell

My mask is feeding me oxygen
I could remove it
Suffocate before impact
And then there's my gun

Not sure if I could do it
But I pull it out anyways
My whole body aches
I don't want to die

Tough choices with no time to think
I pull back the hammer
