Breaking Free (Poem)

Breaking Free (Poem)

A Poem by Damien Davison
"

Rest I will not, for I've too long. One thousand chains I pull.

"
Switch off
Alleviate distraction, Dark
I desire your embrace
Pacing the edge
In to the hurricane
Ravaging winds of disgrace
Past has passed
Those ravaging winds
Where do I lay my soul
Rest I will not
For I've too long
One thousand chains I pull
Weakening rust
Defenses exposed
Through miles and miles of torture
Dawning strength
I lift these hands
The earth, she screams in horror

This is amazing. The beginning, the very first line gets right to it and the last line is great! starts and ends brilliantly! this is truly fantastic and also very original in my mind!

Why thank you, I appreciate that.
Damien, once again I am so enthused and excited to have found a writer of your talent....I have such a huge appetite for amazingly decriptive words and you hit the nail on the head with a fierce power of a Tyson knockout punch...I tell you one thing, Corey Taylor would be very jealous of something as terrorizingly smart and dark....Once again Damien, great job my friend...Keep it up :o)

Damian, this may well be the first of your poems that I have read. Rest assured, it certainly won't be the last. 'Breaking Free' umh, The earth, she screams in horror...

Great to hear Damian, All Good Things, Your friend N
I think the earth screams in horror everyday as she watches us betray our true purposes of enlightenment. It is so hard when we live too much in our natures thrusting ourselves into the dungeons and shackling our thoughts and actions with chains. I always love to read someone being warmed by those rays of light streaming through the barred windows. the burning that feeds the spirit. the intake of solid air ( life) giving the strength to leap into flight to resist temptation and fight for rebirth. love those lines...Rest I will not
For I've too long
One thousand chains I pull

Thank you so much for the review. Love hearing peoples thoughts. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
like these thoughts Damien.."

Rest I will not

For I've too long

One thousand chains I pull

Weakening rust

Defenses exposed

Through miles and miles of torture"

the other stanzas either are not developed from your minds eye or I dont understand them...one poets opinion...good ideas though even all the way thru dawning strength I lift these hands...missing the point of the earth screaming in horror...
