Turning Point

Turning Point

A Poem by DannyLynne Riley

I awoke this morning
to the sound of the train
To the hint of rain
 wood stoves
and  smoke
rising steadily
To dance in the air
 so beautifuly
with the fog
 and drops
of misty morning
where there was no warning
No clue to suggest
my life was about to change
no evidence
that a moment hung so cleverly
on life's proverbial  Christmas tree
would shape so sweet a destiny
where dreams might truly
court reality
that I should dare
be allowed to taste
the sweateness of life
so carefully placed
delicate
and deliberate
upon my tongue

Wow! Your poem makes me want to sip hot totties, sitting by the fireplace with a nice warm soft blanket. Your love for the fall is so evident and I know a few other things you like as winter approaches!! Every time I read your stories or poems, you make life sound so refreshing and your descriptions of of your surroundings are full of "whats next around the corner?" You would make a blind man happy listening to your wonderful Painting of morning life. I like the poem. Love your boo!
