Once Upon A Time

She is Cinderella.

She dreams in wishes,

though they might not always come true.

She is Snow White.

She has her friends and protectors,

though they might be taller than three feet.

She is Sleeping Beauty.

She knows the prick of giving her heart to another,

though she might risk it again and again.

She is Jasmine.

She knows what it is to be walled in,

though those walls might not be made of stone.

She is Belle.

She knows what it is to love a beast,

though her love might not always break the monster's spell.

She is Mulan.

She has fought many wars,

though she might not always be up against foreign invaders.

She is Giselle.

She sees the world as a fairy tale,

though reality might slip through the cracks from time to time.

She is Tiana.

She has kissed a frog or two,

though they might not always turn out to be her prince.

She is Ariel.

She knows what it is like to have to choose between home and heart,

though her heart might not win as often as she would like.

She is Alice.

She dreams of the world beyond the mirror,

though the glass might shatter before she reaches it.

So perhaps she isn't exactly a Disney Princess.

But I'll tell her story anyway.

I grew up in love with these stories and Disney in general, so this brought back some of my childhood. I especially loved the Alice piece because I have this fascination with Wonderland. I like how you revealed the "other side" to each story... Even being a Disney princess isn't perfect. There's so much I love about this! Really fantastic work :)
