3-Way Call

3-Way Call

A Poem by Dusty Mondy

Track off of Alias Punch album#1, Alias Punch

Hey, Kiddo, I though I'd call you up,
How do you do?
It's been a while since we last talked
I heard you made friends too,
I heard you made friends too,

I heard you made friends too,
I heard you made friends too,
You know I got the blues,
When I heard you made friends too,

But I've had one too many questions,
Since we left each other,
When we were just two jerks,
You used to hate it when I didn't hold your hand,
And acted like a man,
The world was on my mind,

Look, Kiddo, we've been here before,
And now you're starting to cry,
I don't like it when you do that,
Don't ask me why,
I said, don't ask me why,

Don't ask me why,
Don't ask me why,
You can't say I didn't try,
So, don't ask me why,

And I might say I've always loved ya,
And there's been no other,
Girl to help me fit in my shoes,
But I can't be that direct and honest,
You'll get sticky on us,
I'll feel claustrophobic all over again,

Kiddo, where you at?
Don't you know where I stand?
I can see you through the telephone,
You're hold my tears in your hand,
And you nee more than a man in bed,
You need more than a man in bed,

Because it's easy to say I love you when your dead,
It's easy to say I love you when you're dead!

Now, now, Kiddo, wash off your face,
And smoke a cigarette,
We're both so different; we're so grown up,
And you've got a future yet,
You've got a future yet,

You've got a future yet,
You've got a future yet,
You know I place my bets,
On you've got a future yet,

But I know somethings eating me up,
As I drink my tea cup,
And I think I should have stuck to coffee,
Whoa hold on! I aint calling you a bean,
Please, know what I mean,
You know I like analogies,

Kiddo, where you at?
Don't you know where I stand?
I can see you through the telephone,
You're hold my tears in your hand,
And you nee more than a man in bed,
You need more than a man in bed,

Because it's easy to say I love you when your dead,
It's easy to say I love you when you're dead!
