The most wonderful night

This is what I imagined a night would be when I get old with the one I love

Serene and silent

one ice-cold night warmed by

cotton-fabric sheets.

Our sweater brushes,

our socks pulled over,

up and bound the knees.

You make one hard cough,

I reach and rub your back.

You stop with a smile.

I, then, rest a kiss

in the smile of your dry lips

and fall back to sleep.

Silent and serene.

All the nightbirds are singing

until another morning.

Thank you, Lydi. I always admire old couples who still gestures sweetly to their partner. When I look at them, it's like I can see all the things they've been through together with the lines on their faces and the whites in their hair. I always thought that when we get old, a lot of simple gestures mean so much. So, I truly believe that this simplicity, is a wonderful night. :)
