very interesting thought! ... i dare say however that there are many on a path of enlightenment .. people that care about substance and beauty ... and at the end of the road (beginning would be more appropriate) i think the question might better be put ... why why?? ;)
personally i think that any journey committed to finding truth is well worth the effort .. we really can crack a nugget or two and enjoy the fruits of that labor .. the simplicity of your poem and the repetition of posits lends strength .. ending with the question almost forces me back to the beginning to read again .. i like this kind of stuff! very fine!

If we try to understand everything, give, feel and put all the effort in we should try and find reward in that. Sometimes acknowledgement goes a long way but often we get noe. Your not alone at all:)

This is so true! I recently moved out of a family members home for this exact reason. I will never understand how some people think education equals intelligence. Having a fight with someone like that is like talking to a brick wall, you will never get through.
