The scales of justice.

The scales of justice.

A Poem by Mehak Mushtaq

Come to me with your evil face,
To promise me your fair grace.
Do me bad for all my bad.
Give me good, if I've ever had.

Well on the line - not above, not below,
Keep me human, not a saint, not a hoe.
Be the angel of blessings, Gabriel.
Be the angel of punishment, Kushiel.

I see a b***h, an angel in you.
But found solace when walked in your shoe.
Bring torments, bring me faith.
To wash evil, give me holy water to bathe /
When I have evil, i get holy water to bathe.

You be my light in the dark.
Be my misleading landmark.
For, you bring my bad back to me.
To keep me on the line, to keep my average me.

Hundreds of souls away you take,
Hundreds equal then, you make.
You give autumn to spring,
Summer for winters you bring.

No demon, no angel I wanna be,
Hence, my good too comes back to me.
Thank you for being so natural to me,
His men hurt more, nature is a kind bee.

Be the coldest in the darkest night,
Be my weak armor in my evil fight.
Then, be the showers of rain in my drought,
Be the kind healing after I've fought.

You are indeed my personal God here,
Deciding all or nothing, giving me evil for evil and fair for fair.
You are running the world - the heaven, the hell.
Punishment is not afterlife, it's all here as well.

So be what you are and keep me steady.
Do what you're doing. Torments and blessings. I'm ready.
Why do we call you Karma?
You are God already.

Very powerful write. As a person who's grown up with a lot of muslim friends and knowing how conservative and religious minded their families are, this was definitely a heavy write but it comes from a place of thought and discovery.. you are just being honest and I believe that is your way of discovering the religion and God you worship and love. Sure they'll say who are we to question, who are we to doubt or judge, well if we shouldn't then why did God provide us brains enough to do it? We all find God through something and you've represented your idea of him beautifully here, for he might be bittersweet but to you he's still God.

I feel this is a yo-yo's song to the person holding the string. But A yo-yo without a string will roll away and stop dead as it lodges among the shoes at the entrance of the house.

Oh, true that.
I subscribe to this poem totally!

A simple human does not aspire for greatness to be thrust on them but an answer to his small prayers.

When I ask something of God, I do not weigh its contents in values and virtues. Iask simply what my little heart desires in all sincerety!

Your poem is highly appreciated and deserves accolades! 100/100

Glad that you liked it.
oh, i am a firm believer in karma...not big on the christian , mormon, muslim, hindu, and other things...because i am pagan, but i do believe that what comes around goes around and we pay our debts by and by. i love this write from you, your style has relaxed somewhat since i first met you and i like this very much, because you are metamorphosing into a brilliant and sensitive writer. i will be reading more of your work....i am very impressed!

The scales of justice hmm. yes, it's perfect. Thank you so much. :)
Powerful and profound... You speak to the roar of life around us.. the good and the bad that surround our lives.. our thoughts... our actions. And there in the vastness of the world you lead us to an intimacy with a greater purpose.

Seems like you got my point. Thank you.
After reading all the to's and fro's of muslim thinking here, it's still an alien concept to me, and I just feel that I don't want to get involved.
