Here Again

Here Again

A Poem by E.V. Black
"

I thought you were different.

"

From the start,

I thought you were different.

Different from everybody

I had ever encountered.

I looked into your eyes

and began to believe.

Now it’s different;

I’ve lost faith in you.

Why shouldn’t I be surprised?

But it’s so unexpected,

so unfortunate.

I had expected

more from you.

I never thought

I would see this.

My hope, persistent

from the start,

fades into a faint light.

Will it be relit?

All I know is that

I’m here again

once more.
