How Many Words

How Many Words

A Poem by E.V. Black
"

To my mother.

"

In how many words

can I say

how much you

brighten my day?

What can I say that

hasn’t already been said?

Tritely twisted

around in my head?

With how many words

can I express

the weight of my love,

so hard to digress?

In how many words,

and sentences too,

can I say

that I love you?

Author's Note

A new, fresh poem written for my mom for Mother's Day. I actually wrote this on a heart-shaped card for her and decorated it. The decoration was very simple, but it fit her well. She likes simple things. Happy belated Mother's Day, everyone! :D
