Black + Tan

Black + Tan

A Poem by E.V. Black
"

For the black and tan coonhound.

"

What is a truer friend

than the black and tan?

To kiss and to hug,

to laugh with and to love.

And, sometimes,

getting into things we shouldn’t

be touching.

Still,  a docile and a true soul,

loyal to anybody who

loves him.

(Or, who’s holding the food.)

Yes, the black and tan

is an interesting fellow,

but one whose companionship

I wouldn’t give up.
