The Universe, on the Little Speck of an Empty-Shelled Girl

The Universe, on the Little Speck of an Empty-Shelled Girl

A Poem by astoundinglyattractive

...

...

...

...

She's concieted

...

there are bigger problems out here then down there

its not like we give a damn,

why the hell does she think we would

Says Saturn To Jupiter

...

It doesn't really matter whats happening on earth

its a small planet, full of small

and worthless

beings.

she should stop thinking of herself

and focus on the greater good

Complains Jupiter To Saturn

...

She means nothing overall

such a short and meaningless life.

Eighty Years is nothing;

she should be glad at least for that

The Sun Yells Across To Betelgeuse

...

Yes, if she knew the life of a star

or planet

or any object than that of a conciented human

then maybe she'd realize its not all abou her

and that her lifespan

is like a day to one of us.

Betelgeuse complies

...

Thev voices of all the black holes in the universe chorous together

She does not matter, but nor do you.

All you lowly nothings- stars and planets.

One day each of you will die and we will thrive for your scattered bits

Stars will explode, absorbing planets.

If you live that long

More likely i will pull you in towards my depths,

sucking out you light and life force,

absorbing everything you are and where.

You are all meaningless and we will reign

over all of space.

She may be meaningless

and worthless

and stupid and a waste of valuable energy

but you are no better.

Only I, only we, will ever live forever

Their deep voices bellow on forever, endless echoes in her dreams.

Dear Ghostwriter,

A difficult topic, bravely undertaken, and actually well accomplished. But I have to say, no, not even black holes live forever. They evaporate. Spontaneous creation of particles and antiparticles at their event horizon, some falling in, some escaping, cause blackholes to evaporate. This was initially a surprise for physicists. So only the massless particles are immoral as time never passes for them.

Still, this poem is so heroic. It so nicely frames the finite nature of man and even the finite nature of stars and planets. And the fact that blackholes are permanent, doesn't really affect the poem. The conversations between the stars and blackholes are still relevant. It is rather that the conversation isn't over. The immortal massless particles have yet to speak. And then what of the Universe? Does this end? What is left when this dies? This conversation exceeds the depth of our knowledge.

This is a truly inspired work and I salute you. It is very thought provoking. This was greatly enjoyed. High marks! These are thoughts and understandings way beyond what might be expected of someone of your age, indeed of anyone with out an advanced degree in physics. I am most impressed.

My very best regards,

Rick
