Memory

Memory

A Poem by Ian Lundin
"

I still remember you... and then.

"

The breeze pushes the heat away
There's something in the air today
It's times like these when I start to think
How I was pushed right to the brink
Struggling to hang on for just a little longer
Every time I've come back stronger
Even so, I wonder

Do you ever reminisce,
Or wonder about what you might have missed?
Can you still remember that first kiss?
Sometimes, does the taste still linger on your lips?
Hidden in your memory,
Do you still remember me?

We went through so much
Fighting until we lost all touch
Loving like there was nothing to lose
Me with my brew and you with your boones
Summer in the desert and we were even hotter
Now, looking back at how we got here
It makes me wonder

Do you ever reminisce,
Or wonder about what you might have missed?
Can you still remember that first kiss?
Sometimes, does the taste still linger on your lips?
Hidden in your memory,
Do you still remember me?
I only ask because I still do.
I still remember you.

This was beautiful! The imagery was so touchable, I really loved the lines: "The breeze pushes the heat away" and "Can you still remember that first kiss?
Sometimes, does the taste still linger on your lips?"
Absolutely stunning!!!!

Oh, this reminds me of someone. If your name was Josh I would swear you were him. LOL
Save the desert, that is.
I'm sure the person you remember remembers it just the same, or a close rendition. The things that stay with us of those times we shared with others- if it was special to one, it is almost always special to both.
I liked this. Very nicely done.

Writing is like a one way window. You open the blinds but you still can't see out, even though the whole world can see in. It's the ideas that I can't yet express that drive me forward. Someday I hope.. more..
