A Lesson

I’ve gone and made a mistake again

Now why should I do that?

It tells me something I already know:

Curiosity killed the cat

 

Try chasing after elusive dreams:

Self-hope, self-forgiveness, self-promises,

I’ll tread on a mine, or a trap, I know that

I should never have left the premises!

You know what i always say.....curiosity killed the bunny.....lol..just kiddin..maybe. this is a great poem. short , sweet, and straight to the point. *points at you with pen* Thats what i like about you, you get it done. (: now, lets eat sum of those french bread pizza sticks or whatever. (:

I have had lessons like that. I mostly promise myself about changing things for the better but it did not happen. I broke a promise. I try and try again I break another promise to myself

I really enjoyed this piece. I think you did an exquisite job on the rhyme and meter. And I loved the message behind it. I also like that this poem can be seen in two different lights, as a person who is learning from their mistakes or as a person who is chasing after a dream and they get set back or mess up.. BUT they need to keep on trying. So it can be viewed as both positive or negative, depending on the reader. I like that. Nicely written.

I chase those very dreams every day. The chase is what keeps alive, my friend. Without it I would have been gone a long time ago. I liked this.

By the way, better to tread on what is yours than to have another feel it is their place to do so.
