The Taker

A Poem by Devons

Take me
I just want cash
It's a swap: me, my goal
I care about all things except
my soul.

Simple yet not so simple. So many of us trade our soul for money. Who is the taker? Is is our culture?

Just like the lives of so many people. Money has a lot of control over people, its truly amazing. And saddening. And frustrating! Nice work for a cinquain. I'm not usually fond of little poems like that, but I like this one.

Beautiful and it effects me with such a sensational feeling from the flow

I may have read this a bit differently than intended. I read it as if it was one side of a conversation. Someone explaining their perspective, as it pertains to them, to another. I am not even sure if I can adequately explain it here.

Very good write. I like it very much.
