The Poppy Path

The Poppy Path

A Poem by Jenna
"

Making Life Decisions

"

Laying among the Poppies as they sway to and fro.

A heady scent that doesn't help in my choosing of which path to go.

The path of reason or the path of heart.

That fork in the road where life must start.

The butterflies flutter about ignoring my pleas.

Ignored by everything, even the trees.

The clouds drift along oblivious to my inner turmoil.

War waging inside, my own feelings and thoughts being disloyal.

Eyelids heavy from the warm Hyperion Sun.

Musing the idea of fleeing, the idea to run.

Alas the decision will always weigh like a heavy rock.

For this split path is one I alone must walk.

I like how this flows...you take such a pretty picture and turn it serious, sometimes even on pretty days we feel the weight of our decisions so heavily upon us.

Good Job
