A Poem by Mark

Being human presumes we will move
in unison, in pairs, on battlefields
or light as feathers on air;
we dance.

Under the life giving blaze of the sun
in red fields where death ends
without understanding, or clarity;
we dance.

Billions of tears, billions of laughs
on joy spread like butter on toasts of romance
In searing hate, in bone jarring love;
we dance.

Always, under the stars
seeing in moonlight or not
tearing at hearts or mending souls;
we dance.

We might hold ourselves apart
away from life, with hope of God.
Still, without each other how can
we dance?

Great poem Mark. Dance can be a great medium to bring people together. beautifully written .

This makes me want to dance in a room full of strangers. That's out of character for someone reserved, introverted, and shy as me. Haha. Nice point, Mark.

Thank you hon :)
Wow you covered all bases here Mark, toast and jam, battlefields dancing, moonlight, you made me dizzy in a twirl, but I guess that's what dancing and being human does to a person, thanks for the whirl. ;-)

This poem seems to be arguing with itself Mark. Though still very well penned.

Heehee I like that. :)
you are in quite a pensive mood at the moment man, another thought provoking one, do we go with the herd mentality and put it down to community, or stick our head above the parapet at the risk of being shot down, or is your poem saying find a happy medium.
