Holy is the Lord God Almighty

Holy is the Lord
who was slain
The prison chains
In the dark
Holy is the God
Who sent His Son
to die for us:
Set apart

Holy is my Savior
Who ransomed me
Got off His seat
and walked the earth.
Holy is my Father
Who listens always
In my dark days,
in my hurt.

Holy is the Lamb
Who sacrificed
His holy life
For a worthless fool.
Holy is the Rock
Who was knocked down
Thorns within that crown
For me and you

Holy is the King
Who rose from that grave
Stone rolled away
His body is gone
Holy is the Conqueror
He reaps what He sows
He's seated on His throne
And yet here with us

Holy is my Shepherd
He never leaves
How He loves His sheep
He keeps them safe
Holy is the Creator
His intention: perfect
But we deserted
His plan and replaced it with hate

Holy is Yahweh
Who loves a sinner;
So bruised and bitter
A condemned soul
Holy is GOD ALMIGHTY
Who loves with His whole heart,
Who brings light in a world of dark

And never stops at all.

Author's Note

I wrote this during a Christian summer camp this week, and it really means so much to me. We sin and hate his plan and yet he still loves us? He died for souls that were to be condemned because of how wretchedly wicked and selfish we are. But we are freed from that bondage because of His amazing brutal sacrifice two thousand years ago. We have an awesome God!

Beautiful, beautiful piece. I'm so glad we have an awesome, loving God, as you said. He helped me through the dark times, and still does, He is bigger than all our problems, struggles, doubts, emotions, and thoughts. He knows who we are, who we're going to be, and what everyone else is. He literally saved my life this year. And every picture and memory I make with life; I'll always keep him in my heart, and I continue to wear the necklace BELIEVE.
