Let's Rock

Let's Rock

A Poem by The Iron Horseman

An ironic look at urban decay, inner city violence, etc.

Urban blitzkrieg rock,

Smashing your mental block.

Howling, wailing guitars,

Slicing through smoky bars.

Thundering, rumbling bass,

Tearing up the place.

Pounding, thrashing drums,

Making your nerves go numb.

Blowing out your lights,

Getting into fights.

Setting trash can fires,

Smoking those back tyres.

Gunfire in the dark,

Screams from the park.

Another Saturday night,

One more alcoholic fright.

Driven by people without pity,

In every major city.

Needles in the gutter,

Ground glass in your butter,

But, hey, it's good clean fun,

So long as you've got a gun.

...LET'S ROCK...

The Iron Horseman
This was written originally as a 100 mph rock anthem, so don't expect Wordsworth!

Glad you liked it! Yes, it's universal!
Well, now that I am once again adequately scared for humanity.... an excellent piece! Breakneck tempo absolutely provides that rock beat. Awesome work, as always!
