Let It Go

Let It Go

A Poem by J. F. Charleston

Tonight was a tough choice
A choice of happiness
And responsibility
How do I keep this
Thing called positivity

I had to choose between
Runnin' in the herd
Or keeping up with the world
I'm just a caged bird

I had to let it go
I had to give it up
Give up the friends
Give up the herd

It shattered me to pieces
Took a midnight drive
Trying to let it sink in
To pick up these pieces
To hold up my chin

An inner fight dwelled inside
I didn't want to tell them
But was something I had to do
I went back and forth
Until it was time to surrender

I had to let it go
I had to give it up
Give up the friends
Give up the herd

It shattered me to pieces
Took a midnight drive
Trying to let it sink in
To pick up these pieces
To hold up my chin

I hope to go back
Be back in the herd
Run beside Thunder
Oh man I just wonder
When this caged bird
Will be free once again.

A caged bird will always want their freedom.I hope to go back

The above lines are sad. To lose freedom and be caged. We will slowly die. Thank you my friend for sharing the amazing poetry and artwork.

"Let it go." A very good and wise advice from a wise cowboy. Run free and don't dwell on the past. Thank you for sharing...:)...............
