The MeetingA Poem by JSAECHafter a year of texting we finally meetI never thought this day would come But I finally got you to succumb Waiting for you with bated breath Glad we are doing this before our death Palms sweaty, I’m a nervous wreck As I sit here waiting on this deck Will you show or will you bail I guess only time will tell We’ve been talking for a year I just had to preserver I see you walking down the street No I can hear my heart beat Will you stay or will you run I feel our time has just begun As you enter I almost faint But you show much restraint As you approach it is clear Like me you are full of fear Here you stand in front of me There is no place I’d rather be With the be the last time we meet I wonder as I stare at my feet With unknown courage I look at you Your clothes look all brand new What should my first words be I want to say something crafty I open my mouth to try and speak But all I hear is a little squeak You smile all the same Then you say my name At that moment I finally knew That you really loved me too © 2018 JSAECH |
