THE DEATH OF A POET

THE DEATH OF A POET

A Poem by Jvl narasimharao

Like an ant that dies

the moment it bites a human

you will die the moment

you write a poem

The ant does not live again

but you live in the heart

And soul of us

when we read your poem

Like God, your poem

is an abstract Idea

rather than a concrete thing

we interpret IT in our own way

You wipe out tears

Console our fears

Incite, ignite, instruct

Delight and even confuse us

Like Jesus rose from the dead

you rise again and again

in the human intellect

And live for posterity and eternity

Very well constructed, deep, philosophical and very engaging. As a writer writing about writing (Wow, a lot of writing in that statement) it can sometimes be very easy to fall flat on your face and trip over your own cliches. You've managed to avoid every trip and fall effortlessly by distancing yourself as the writer, through use of the second person narrative among other techniques. You have a definite and concise style with some interesting comparisons between writing abstracts and Religious ideals. Nice work. :)
