Discrete...

Feeling down...

Discrete...

When my eyes leak and my heart skips a beat
I try so hard to be discrete even when the pain peaks,

I feel down but never out
I get energized by this pain and instead of pout I want
to scream and shout,

But I stay discrete because I don't want to repeat the
mistakes I've made in the past the same mistakes that
bit me in the a*s,

I try to learn from my past mistakes
and not make them again so I just pretend everything is
okay because eventually tomorrow will be a new day,

One day that pain will hide itself just like I hide my frustration
so I just stay patient knowing that the smile will return and I won't
want to hide like the sun behind a cloud my frown will be turned upside
down,

So for now I will stay discrete
I will let the pain peak
I will let my eyes leak
I will be okay cause tomorrow is a new day...

There's a famous saying from the Abrahamic religions along the lines of: 'when a sinner repents he seeks "discretion" and does not boast about his dark past so that God will pave a new righteous path for him..having said that your heartfelt words and use of metaphors echoed and resonated with me to the core.. your poem spoke to my heart soul and spirit .. discretion as God fearing person myself and a sinner is a powerful subject expressed eloquently and beautifully by a powerful writer yourself.. well-penned!
