A Poem by ElizaB

This is for you;
Like all the rest.
All those before,
Never my best.
I was always unsure,
But I cannot forget,
I cannot roam free
Through clouds of regret.
Forget you ever knew me,
Forget we ever loved;
Forget my kiss,
My heart, my face
And let me go unloved.

Allow me to scrub you off,
The skin, the ribs,
Redraw, and scoff.
Wet the nibs
And write you down.
Books, skin and pages
Soaked,
In the one who let me drown.
