Love Poem

Where dreams upon my pillow gently rest

of flower blooms all dressed in shades of love

I lie as warm as summer’s tender breath

with curtains open to the night above

 

A soft wind blows just like nights before

with memories that have me counting stars

in skies that whisper love forevermore…

longing to hear the night is finally ours

 

When love kneels gently by my side again

and gracefully I’m dancing with the moon

through skies of amethyst and times of when

the morning took this beauty way too soon

 

My heart sings with a voice fading away

like drifting clouds through moonlight’s tenderness

and yet the flower blooms will always stay

where dreams upon my pillow gently rest

Hi Julie. A very good write about love, the beauty and dream of it. Good imagery, flow and tone. Line to line transition and breaks are done well. Nice rhythm and enjambment. Rhyme is good. A nice mix of near rhyme and perfect masculine end line rhyme that is executed well in this piece. Lovely depth of feeling. I love the deeply romantic tone of this piece. Good closing lines. Well penned and a most enjoyable read. Write on!

My appraisal would be that this is almost fairytale like in flow. rhyme and story, like the sleeping princess awaiting her prince charming to awaken her with a kiss from her 100 yr slumber !
