My heart sits alone on the desolate shore,

                waiting in slow torturing silence for the day the pain is gone.

My heart sits alone on the dark, dreary shore,

                waiting for the day it forgets you.

My heart sits alone on the vast, empty shore,

                waiting for the day it can beat without sorrow.

 

My heart sits alone on the desolate shore,

                dreaming of your deep brown eyes.

My heart sits alone on the dark dreary shore,

                dreaming of the heart skipping rays of your perfect smile.

My heart sits alone on the vast, empty shore,

                dreaming of the day it will fill your embrace.

 

My heart sits alone on the desolate shore,

                 knowing that the wait will never end.

My heart sits alone on the dark, dreary shore,

                knowing it will never forget you.

My heart sits alone on the cast, empty shore,

                knowing it will never beat without the stabbing, piercing pain.

 

My heart sits alone on the desolate shore,

                 knowing it will never gaze into your eyes again.

My heart sits alone on the dark, dreary shore,

                knowing it will never bask in your wonderful smile again.

My heart sits alone on the cast, empty shore,

                knowing it will never feel the glorious warmth of your embrace, again.

 

Yes, my heart sits alone on that vast, empty shore

                and there I will leave it because without you

                                it will never be mine again.
