A Poem by Different Wings
"

spiraling...

"
A spiral spirals down

spiraling indiscriminately as spirals do

not peaceful, like a swastika

not mind-bending, as a labyrinth is

and certainly not organic, like the tail of a pig, for sure

it's not meticulous, though a mathematician's design is

no, it's not experienced, not like a conk shell is

doubtful that it's elegant, as calligraphy is

it's not coy, not like an eddy is

or sturdy, like the wire at the convergence of lined pages

in any case, it isn't thoughtful like a wisp of smoke

definitely not charismatic as the finale of a banister

and it isn't time-consuming, like a mid-century alternative is

it simply spirals down

meeting sometime, somewhere

Assonance and alliteration...nice devices. I like the concept- the spiral staircase.

I enjoyed reading this.
