A Dime a Dozen

A Dime a Dozen

A Poem by Wallflower

I'm defeated and depleted,
Lost between then clouds.
I'm mistreated, its not needed,
A face amongst the crowd.

Everything has come to light,
So why does it feel so dark?
I wonder when I lost this fight,
I failed to make my mark...

How naive to invent this lie,
To divide myself from them.
To convince myself that i defy
The other hearts that you condemn.

Very true and rich poetry. It is both enigmatic and open; it can mean many things to many people but the sense of profundity is as strong. To me, it represents the doubt of uniqueness (in one way or another) and the feeling of resistance to conformity being worn down and outnumbered. And this itself could apply to many things, but that is the beauty of the piece. I admire your work.

You are unique. Always remember that when you feel lost amongst the crowd. One other thought struck as I read, 'We cannot be an island' no matter how we try.

Lovely rhythm and rhyme to this forlorn little poem.

Smiling at you
