a single beat for the one I loved

Days that I forget you don't change much

the feeling of depression still lingers

its like my heart can't adapt to the pain

no matter the amount of sedatives

Running from you just to run into you

wondering what could have been

but upset that I can't let go

guess it's because my happiest moments were cause of you

but I still want to forget it all

breathe in the air of clear skies

and no longer stumble under grey weather

This isn't a broken heart crying for love

this a broken heart hurting from beating

enduring the pain of loneliness

and the pain for being vulnerable

Unable to understand the reason why healing takes so damn long

yet the one responsible continues to live on... unaffected

But I'm mature enough to know you can't change emotions

nor can you force them

Yet here I am

I love that, love the idea of the beating of a heart hurting and I think the first and last verses tie it together very nicely
