Cayman's Odyssey

Cayman's Odyssey

A Poem by Twilight
"

This poem is about a vampire who features in two of my stories.

"

The forsaken ones,

Breed like flies,

And take the blood,

Of mortal lives

From amongst this breed,

Of vampire kind,

Mighty Cayman,

Stepped aside

As strong as ten,

And wary of mind,

A darker foe,

You could not find

Cayman's lust,

For blood was strong,

Come what may,

It shan't be long

Before he seeks you,

Hide in fear,

As those wings,

Are flapping near

And in the night,

By candle light,

Fear the sight

Of a vampire's bite

But if alone,

Fear not the morn,

At such a time,

He roams no more.

Nicely done. Not only does your tempo and rhyme blend together fluidly, but you manage to tell a story holding aspects of horror, fear, and yet hope as well.

This line in particular holds all three and is magnificent:

But if alone,

Fear not the morn,

At such a time,

He roams no more.

Lovely use of new and old world english my friend!

Your rhyming is smooth and I like the whole piece; it flows well. I also like the name of your character, Cayman. Pretty cool. I also favor this part of the poem:

"And in the night,
By candle light,
Fear the sight
Of a vampire's bite" ~ I can see this inside the prologue of your book. Nice work.

I love that you're using the old English.

And in the night,
By candle light,
Fear the sight
Of a vampire's bite

My favorite part!!! Well-written.

Nice work! :)
