About Me

My first name is Julian. I'm a white male, straight, English, christian, pro-life and 42 years old. Writing is just an interest to me. However, maybe I have the potential to achieve more? My favourite writers include H. P. Lovecraft, Isaac Asimov, John Wyndham, Clark Ashton Smith, Stephen King, Algernon Blackwood, Philip K. Dick, William Hope Hodgson, Anthony Burgess, Jules Verne, Edgar Allan Poe, Ursula Le Guin, August Derleth, Tanith Lee, J. R. R. Tolkien, Arthur Machen and M. R. James. Amongst others, my favourite non-fiction writers (Christian) include Saint Augustine Of Hippo and Martin Luther. But, what about my own writing? Well, my favourite themes are fantasy, weird fiction, philosophy and politics.

On this site, I have moderated a Writing Group called "Twilight's Disciples". It's for writers of all talents, where members can discuss philosophical topics, and more! If you think that this sounds interesting, then feel free to join!

Some of my poems have been published by United Press Ltd, following some success in a number of their contests.

My home is in the pleasant Derbyshire town of Belper. I sometimes visit the Southbank Centre and British Film Institute in London. My favourite TV programmes include "24", "Prison Break", "The X-Files", "NYPD Blue", "Minder" (original series) and "The Prisoner".

In addition to reading and writing, I have a strong passion for films. I also like art. My London art gallery of choice has usually been The Hayward. In addition, I have a strong appreciation of our countryside. I oppose all forms of "assisted suicide" and euthanasia. So far, my favourite exhibitions at The Hayward have included "About Face", "Universal Experience", "Dan Flavin: A Retrospective" and "Annette Messager: The Messengers". I'm a Saison Poetry Library member.

My favourite radio stations include BBC Radio 4, BBC Radio 4 Extra and BBC World Service. Also, TV news channels such as Russia Today (RT) and BBC Parliament. I'm a former Freedom Association (TFA).

Hey, thanks for the add! Although, for a minute there I was afraid you were some kind of avid vampire romance lover because of your name! =P Anyway, looking forward to reading some of your stuff! Please check out some of mine as well =) Thanks!
