Free From That Emotion

This is about how I felt when a new stranger walked into my life. It was only for a couple of days, but I didn't feel disappointed about nothing happened between us. I was 'Free of that emotion'...

I saw you walk into the room.

You were a bright, fresh, new

Handsome face.

A spark ignited inside me.

It was cool,

Like a mini flame in my heart.

But there didn’t seem

To be a connection from your side.

I tried to make you see

How I felt about you,

But it fell on deaf ears.

I’m not sure if you were oblivious

To my advances

Or if you were just ignoring them.

In the back of my head

I kept saying,

“I told you so”,

But I didn’t feel down or disappointed.

It’s weird,

But I somehow felt free

Of that sort of emotion.

Maybe if we had met

On a different day

This might have been different.

But we didn’t,

And I’m happy to walk away from this

Alone.
