Hoarding: Buried Inside

Hoarding: Buried Inside

A Poem by Laurierose
"

I. Feel. You.

"

Push it down

Deep inside

There's space somewhere

Who is this?

There's no room for you

We need more room

Dodge forgotten feelings

They'll only get in the way

Pile on what's necessary

Clear a space

Shelve it away

It's close to full

Pretty soon I'll have to see

Face raw, imprisoned stares

That's pleaded for much needed

Relief

This is a great job of comparing physical hoarding & the kind that happens deep inside. I never would've thought of such a comparison & I love originality like this. Your phrases are well-crafted to carry the metaphor with vivid imagery & strong feeling (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

I often have described similar feelings to my wife about my thoughts of her... I tell her this can't be healthy. lol Your usage of metaphor is spot on to how I feel, but can't relay accurately to her.

I'm glad this resonated with you. I appreciate the touching review.
Not good to keep everything being buried inside - gets to a point of utter suffocation and a point of no return- when we can release and set ourselves free from the bondage of the things inside is when our heart is no longer controlled by the mind- well written and very true🌹

dear Laurierose... a life full of love can overflow... like river banks when storm clouds roll. Each day the stream recedes and serenity
reflects the sunshine on the still waters of life. truly, Pat

My pleasure, thank you for the poem sharing with us all.
Its a great metaphor and I think that in both instances, the physical and the mind, it is a monumental sadness when this happens. You always have a great way of showing us the issue without shoving it down our throats. You are delicate and clever. Great job!!!

I jam my attic with memories that often cause me to not step forward...
pain can be hoarded and we leave no room to love...someone has to come along and help clear out those negative feelings...those uncertainties.
